Business Management highlights include managing P&L, operating budgets up to $17.5 million, developing capital budgets up to $60 million, and negotiating and drafting contracts. Business development including startups, sales, managing teams from a handful up to 100+ people, building teams and organizations sometimes from scratch, managing large multi-site operations, program and project management for complex inter-related projects, business optimization including implementing operational metrics, benchmarking, best practices, and implementing and testing business continuity and recovery planning. Technology highlights include direct hands-on experience as a technician and engineer with extensive formal technical training. A solid foundation of knowledge developed through formal training in basic electricity and electronic theory followed by extensive hands-on experience. Further training on a broad range of advanced applications including RF wireless communications, satellite communications, radar and satellite navigation systems, telephone circuit switching systems at the PBX, Central Office and toll switching level. Carrier transmissions systems with Optical, Digital, and Analog environments. Local Area Network (LAN), Metro Networks, Wide Area Network (WAN) multi-protocol routed and switched environments. Network routing schemes for voice and data, packet and cell switching. Experienced with the mainframe, the mid-range and the personal computer systems environments and software applications use and development. Designed, built, and maintained data centers, Wide and Local Area Networks (WAN/LAN), telecommunications systems, servers, websites, firewalls, personal computers and software applications. Highly proficient user of office productivity tools and experienced with enterprise data integration. Design experience with high availability and fault tolerant environments in data centers for critical server and network elements. Current General Class FCC License “KE7IBN”.

Educator highlights include current instructor at Bellevue College and Everett Community College teaching in the Project Management Certificate Program and teaching in the spring/fall PMI Puget Sound sponsored PMP/CAPM certification preparation classes.  Trained teams in Zinger/Miller principles of Front Line Leadership and Working For Professionals. Developed and delivered targeted training for clients. Former Advisory Board Member and Instructor for the University of Washington’s (UW) technology related certificate programs. Taught IT Resource Management (managing an IT organization), Local and Wide Area Network Technologies, and Advanced Topics in Data Communications through UW Extension Programs. Former Industrial Advisory Board member for the Computer Engineering Technology Program at DeVry University.
